Youth Language Program (YLP)

 ***Registration Closed***

A two-day intensive program for students in grades 9 - 12

July  13 - 14, 2019

Based on the premise that participants learn best when they are active, Master Teachers and Assistant Teachers lead participants in lessons, reinforcement drills, and activities designed to reinforce basic language skills and cultural understanding while having fun.  This program is modeled after our intensive Weekend Immersion Program (WIP) for adults and adapted to be culturally relevant and academically rigorous for the younger learner.

The Rassias Center's YLP has two equally important goals:

1. Challenge students foreign language skills and provide them with insights into foreign cultures.
2. Create a safe, fun and active learning environment for these students.

All classes will be entirely in the target language. Cultural lessons will be part of the curriculum and there will be across-language group sessions, during which all languages will present a song or cultural item of interest to the rest of the participants.
